
Julie Ellen "Tawny," Kitaen was an American actress and model. She lived between May 7th, 2021 to August 5, 1961. She began her career as a television actress appearing in television movies Malibu (1983) as well as California Girls (1985). She also starred in the comedies The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik-Yak and Bachelor Party (both 1984) and the horror film Witchboard (1986). Kitaen gained widespread recognition due to her role in numerous rock music videos, including Ratt's (1984) "Back for More" Whitesnake's ("Still of the Night") and Whitesnake's ("Is This Love") (all 1987). In the 2000s Kitaen began appearing on reality television series, such as Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew (2008) that highlighted Kitaen's battle with substance abuse. Julie Kitaen was the youngest of three children, born in San Diego in 1961 to Linda Kitaen (nee Taylor) as an actress and former beauty pageant participant and Terry Kitaen who worked for the neon sign industry. Kitaen's mother, of Irish as well as Scottish descent was married to Terry Kitaen (an employee of a neon sign company). Her father was Russian-Jewish. [3The younger Kitaen was raised in the Jewish faith. [4][5] At the age of 12, she began use the nickname "Tawny" that she came up with on her own. She was dyslexic as a child. This led her to drop out from Mission Bay High School. [7] At the age of 14, with backstage passes following an Peter Frampton concert at Balboa Stadium, she saw the high-end treatment that Frampton's wife Penny and aspired to achieve the same for herself.
